ADHD - starring Aaron McIlroy and co-writen and directed by Patrick Kenny - is a hilarious one-man comedy play that examines the life of the irrepressible schoolboy Angus as seen through the eyes of various experts, teachers and his father. It does not prescribe how people should deal with ADHD but it does ask the audience to consider how best the world can accommodate neurodiversity.

The show itself is also a metaphor for considering difference and diversity in all its forms.
ADHD is a play for everybody because at some stage of our existence there will come a time when we feel alienated, disconnected, like a square peg in a round hole.

The play asks us further to consider those who facilitate the societal conditions around those who are different. It casts a sympathetic eye on those whose life’s work is to help people grow into the true potential that has been given them.

ADHD has played to sold out houses at the National Arts Festival (Grahamstown/Makanda) for two years running. It was a sell-out success at the Hilton Arts Festival and during its month long run at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. ADHD has also enjoyed success across South Africa in the many independent venues it has played.
