Sharing my thoughts on another switch sent over by Akko, this time it’s the Akko Dracula Switch

As mentioned in Akko’s website, this is their first switch using POK material. Claiming to be more sustainable and durable than POM. Just a thought, I think that’s why Akko named this switch “Dracula” … for its longevity and elegance with a black and red color theme. How long will these switches last? I guess only “time” will tell hehe :)

The Akko Dracula is a 5-pin linear switch that comes factory lubed out the box. The set the I have are factory lubed, and the typing feel is a lot more lighter than the Akko Botany. It’s still fun to type but I think this would be a lot better if it’s a bit on the heavier side instead. Nevertheless, these switches will give you a smooth typing experience with the additional hole at the bottom of the housing to improve airflow and enhance smoothness.

In terms of the sound, I think it’s quite similar with the Botany switch, the Dracula sounds somewhat like a mid-pitched clack, just maybe a bit more when I tested it on a foamless config. It’s still a decent sounding switch, and the RGB diffuser does give an additional perk on the overall experience if you’re fond of using RGB lighting on your keyboard like me.

If you’re looking for a smooth switch, not too loud that can thock and maybe clack depending on your preferred configuration, the Dracula switch can be a good option as it’s also affordable and easily available online. For the sound test, I mounted them on a zoom75 with a custom POM plate, internal stainless steel weight and no foams. And paired with GMK Mictlan keycaps. :)
