Attorneys for Enbridge Gas appeared in court, asking a judge to dismiss part of the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a South Jordan teenager killed in a gas explosion nearly a year ago.

The hearing in Salt Lake County’s 3rd District Court centered on a motion from Enbridge to dismiss the strict liability claim in the case involving 14-year-old Logan Hansen, who died when his family’s home exploded last November.

Justin Toth, an attorney representing Enbridge, told the court the company’s request was not meant to minimize the family’s loss.
