Watchmaking VLOG - Seagull ST3600 and practicing on the Balance

VLOG 28102023
The whole point of my channel was to document my watchmaking journey from the beginning, so that anyone else stupid enough to do what I am doing will have an idea what they are getting themselves into.

So far I've successfully overhauled three watches, but the last one almost caused me to give up. So it really occurred to me that I need to work more intently on developing my basic skills.
This was really brought home by a video from Kalle at Chronoglide Watchmakers, where he bemoans the massive deficit between knowledge and skill that there is in the world of watchmaking.

These VLOG videos will be about me working on developing my skills.
I welcome YOUR feedback and comments to help me improve.

I purchased a Seagull ST3600 from Aliexpress.

It is a Chinese Clone of an ETA/Unitas 6497. This is a large movement for a pocket watch that is typically used to learn watchmaking on. It also provides me a known good reference movement rather than the eBay junkers I have. So if it has a performance problem, it will be because of something I have done.
