Will your resonant tom heads on you drums need occasional replacement, or is that a misconception? Let's take a look at a comparison of new vs old drum heads, on the bottom side of my toms (resonant drum heads swapped, same top side remo drumheads).

This drum head comparison will swap out 10 year old resonant heads for ones of the same make – Clear Remo Ambassadors. As an added bonus, we'll also try swapping a fairly new Chinese made Remo head with a US made ambassador to see if that has an audible difference.

We'll listen to slower hits (focus on the decay), faster drum hits (focus on how the drum sounds getting pushed), and in context of drum beats.
