Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the Centre’s “discriminatory policies” against southern states and announced plans to convene a meeting of all South Indian Chief Ministers.

The move follows the South Indian Socialists’ Convention in Bengaluru, attended by leaders from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Kerala. Participants voiced strong concerns over unfair financial allocations and population-based delimitation, which could reduce political representation for states that have successfully managed population growth.

Senior leaders, including retired Supreme Court judge Justice Sudarshan Reddy and former Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, joined the convention, calling for united action to safeguard southern interests.
