Sky News host Andrew Bolt has criticised the Australian government for quietly issuing temporary visas to 860 Palestinians and slams them over the security risk posed by rushing them through.

“What is it with this government and our borders … this government has quietly issued temporary visas to 860 Palestinians from Gaza as well as the West Bank,” Mr Bolt said.

“Seriously, Israel’s Muslim neighbours like Egypt and Jordan – they don’t take Palestinians in part from the security risk … but this government saying well yes, come on over to Australia.

“That many visas in that short a time … how is it remotely possible to run proper security checks?

“This … focus on Israel as the warmonger, not the victim is that is helping to license this Jew-hatred that shames us to the world ... until Albanese shuts down ministers like Burke and Wong, Australia’s Jews should take the prime minister’s words today with a lot of salt.”
