On Feb 6 2022, we took this strenuous but spectacular hike to Cajas National Park close to the city of Cuenca Ecuador. It was organized by the Sangay Climbing Club (Club de Andinismo Sangay), which I can recommend if you are in Cuenca and would like to go for a hike. It was not my first visit to Cajas, but I was still blown away by the magnificent views, the diversity of plants and the calming sounds of nature.
Although everyone was exhausted after the 9-hour hike, there was no doubt that every step was worth it.
