Major General Edward J. Crystal Jr., Director of the United States of America ‪@VNWar50th‬ takes the stage at the 126th VFW National Convention to honor the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans and their families.

A life member of the VFW and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Crystal outlines the ongoing efforts of the Vietnam War Commemoration—an initiative he now leads as both a major general in the Army National Guard and a member of the senior executive service. He highlights the essential role VFW Posts and members have played in reaching more than four million Vietnam veterans and their families since the commemoration began in 2012.

Crystal underscores the importance of welcoming Vietnam veterans home with the dignity they were once denied and reflects on how that generation of veterans helped shape a better culture of support for today’s servicemembers.
