he Special Crisis Response Team (CRT) of the police is coming to the field soon to face terrorism, militancy and hostage crisis. Meanwhile, the CRT took special training in Jordan for five months and in Sylhet for one month. Sylhet district police line of Sylhet metropolitan police CRT training was officially ended on Wednesday noon. It is learned that a 24-member team of Sylhet Metropolitan Police was sent to Jordan on June 24 to receive special training. The team was trained in Jordan Police Training College till July 26. The 8 trainers from US Specialist Team Swat trained the 24-member of the SMP team. In any case, the US training team conducted the training courageously, arms control, militant repression, drug and smugglers, arrests of terrorists, and various training programs. Later, two trainers from the United States provided monthly training to the 24-member CRT team in Sylhet. According to the trainers, special training in Sylhet will be completed in the month-long but CRT units will be given more training in the near future. After six months of special training in Jordan Police Training College and Sylhet Police line, Sylhet’s CRT unit is now more efficient and brave. While talking to reporters in the closing day of training in Sylhet's Rokaribazar, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Acting Commissioner Paritosh Ghosh said, “The CRT has been developed as special forces of the police like different countries. CRT will work for the arrest of militants, drug addiction, terrorism, smuggling and the most wanted accused.” The ADC Shahriar Al Mamun, who is in charge of training said, “The CRT team is now more efficient and courageous after training Jordan and Sylhet. It will be seen how efficient they are in the future.” Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (South) Faisal Mahmud and senior officials were present in the closing ceremony of the training. The CRT team will work in three metropolitan cities. These are Sylhet, Chattogram and Rajshahi. CRT teams will be spread across the country to prevent crime in the future
