Byron was born and raised on the African continent and spent his years as a kid playing soccer in the neighborhood streets of Cape Town, South Africa. After being invited by his primary school teacher to attend a choir performance, Byron at the age of 9 was accepted to the world-renowned Drakensberg Boys' Choir School and performed with the choir across Southern Africa and the UK. Byron's musical influences ranges from Beethoven's harmonic aesthetic, to Hendrix's electric church, from Marvin Gaye's smooth crooning to John Lennon's telling lyrics. Instead of using his teenage pocket money on a pair sneakers and Saturday movie tickets, Byron started writing and producing his own songs by age 11 and got his parents to take him to the local studio to lay down his vocals and mix. Now aged 21, Byron is a songwriting major at Berklee College of Music and is currently interning at Sony Music Africa. Byron is on a mission for self-expression and writes music that captures the spirit of his life as it is in the moment of creation.
