Driving around small town Tecumseh, Nebraska in Johnson County. As of 2025, the population is 1,677. In this video, I explore Tecumseh, Nebraska, driving through the historic town square and surrounding neighborhoods. Featured are the 1888 courthouse, an old Opera House with a Rexall Drug Store sign, the IOOF building (the Independent Order of Odd Fellows), 1889 city hall, and several historic churches. Many of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This is a quiet, unplanned drive through a small Nebraska town—empty streets, preserved architecture, and moments that reflect the slower side of small-town America.

The beautiful courthouse is a two-story 91 ft by 68 ft red brick and limestone building that was designed by William Gray. It is a beautiful mix of Romanesque Revival and Classic Revival Victorian era architecture.
