An incredible memory !
15 days before the soundtrack mixing of the film, Gérard Corbiauwas is informed that he is not allowed to use the recordings of the Baroque musicians from Versailles.
He ask me to compose and to orchestrate 50' of music.
There was no way for me to do some fake baroque.
I proposed to consider the score between classicism and romantism, with a more modern orchestration and mostly to imagine a kind of concerto grosso for harp and orchestra.
I had only 8 days to compose (directly for a 40 musicians orchestra), followed by 3 days to achieve the copy of the orchestral parts, than 2 days recording in Praha.
2 copists were working even in my home and we did send a fax every day to Jana Bouskova for the solist part, she was just incredible.
I receive often request about this music which was never released in a CD so, even if this music is not at all representative of my concert or film music, I decided to include it in this Channel.
