Evacuations are underway in Elenite. Residents are advised to evacuate to higher ground due to overflowing rivers due to heavy rain.
The Burgas regional government has requested the Atia Naval Base to mobilize forces, including boats and divers, to assist in controlling the situation in Elenite.
Ten firefighting teams, heavy equipment, and Civil Protection teams are heading to the village, and the area has been cordoned off by police.
The situation in Burgas continues to deteriorate. Evacuations are underway in the Elenite holiday village.
A BG alert has been activated with instructions to evacuate immediately and move to higher ground due to overflowing rivers.
Nessebar, Sunny Beach, and Primorsko are also flooded due to heavy rain.
More than 10 firefighting teams are on the scene in Elenite.
The regional governor is also on his way there, and a helicopter arrived from Sofia, as reported shortly after 11:00 a.m. today.
Local authorities are investigating reports that a car carrying two adults was swept out to sea by a strong current, said Sveti Vlas Mayor Ivan Nikolov.
Information about casualties has not yet been confirmed, the regional government said.
