Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued strict directives to eliminate corruption and improve management in the health sector across Punjab. She emphasized strict monitoring in hospitals, including canteens, security staff, and overall facility management. She highlighted the serious risks faced by diabetic patients when insulin is unavailable, warning that delays and corruption in medicine supply can put lives in danger. The Chief Minister also referred to the tragic fire incident in the Sahiwal Children’s Ward, stressing the need to fix safety flaws in hospitals. She further shared that over 10,000 critical heart surgeries for children have been successfully completed in Punjab — saving thousands of lives.
