On December 21, 2023, University of Dayton Police Officers were called to The Fieldhouse, a sports bar in Dayton. The bouncer alleged that he had been assaulted by two patrons of the bar. Officer Jenkins stopped Sam, who immediately admitted to drinking, but denied that a fight had occurred. Sam pulled out his cell phone camera and began filming the interaction. Soon thereafter, Sam started pointing his cell phone right in Officer Jenkins' face. Officer Jenkins attempted to detain Sam in handcuffs, but Sam namedropped that his father is an attorney and threatened that Officer Jenkins would get fired for his actions. As Officer Jenkins moved to handcuff Sam, he attempted to flee on foot. He didn't get far because he stumbled and fell several times. Backup officers arrived to take Sam into custody. Several minutes later, other patrons of the bar came outside and another individual was arrested. Sam's charges and the outcome of his case are discussed at the end of the video.
