My first video using Aerial drone, GoPro & iPhone camera footage from February 2022 - Spent a week in the beautiful area of Albury/Wodonga which lies on the borders of New South Wales and Victoria.

It is home to the great Hume dam (formerly Hume Weir) where the water is collected from the regions well-known Snowy mountains. The dam feeds the beginning of the Murray River. This is the third largest navigable river in the world and runs all the way to my home state of South Australia, to Coorong where the mouth of the Murray meets the sea. Albury is a big country town, with some nice spots to catch a sunset.

My favourite to fly the drone was Monument hill. The Wonga wetlands is a downstream floodplain of the Murray and a large habitat to over 170 species of birds. One of my favourite scenes is of the different River Red gums, dead and alive. They are hundreds of years old and can tell a story just by standing tall. The gums left in the backwaters have succumbed to the monster-carp who have eaten everything. Although tragic, it makes for some amazing scenery.

Even though this region is renowned for it's alps in the winter, the scenery is next-to-none even during the summer with its rolling mountains covered in gorgeous lush green trees which shade the quaint little towns built in the valleys. Beechworth, Bright, Sullivan's lookout and Mount Beauty all made it onto my afternoon road trip, and they did not disappoint.
