Caveman Dave is a Songwriter, Cigar Box Guitar Builder, Graphic Artist and One Man Band originally from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. Since 2014, he's toured the Country several times performing at Pubs and Festivals. David has a Degree in Education and Fine Art from West Chester University and currently lives in Eugene, OR where he teaches music at the Shedd Institute.

New music coming soon... 5/2 & 8/1

I'll be touring this Spring thru Fall playing mostly bar gigs for the adult crowd and promoting my fourth coming Folk/Americana album 'Sequoia Tree'. No kids gigs on this schedule as of yet but I usually play at least one of the Dinosaur songs at the gig if there's kids.

It's a peculiar situation releasing both kids music and adult contemporary Americana material. Some venues see my kids songs and don't want to book me cause I play kid material about Dinosaurs. So I send them.the correct link to my adult songs then I usually get the gig. Then somehow at the gigs people have heard my kid material and are expecting that to be performed but I have prepared the adult material and there's kids in the front row and I'm like, "maybe I should play one of my kids songs?".

Then I have this Dinosaur head costume that I can wear on stage as sort of a shtick. That's when folks pull of there cameras for a picture, that or the clown nose and 3rd being the Cigar Box Guitar. Is that how one gets taken serious as a Songwriter?
