Former President Donald Trump has pointed to standard language used in an unsealed FBI document to baselessly claim the Biden administration wanted to kill him during a search for documents at his Florida estate in 2022.

A Trump campaign fundraising email with the subject line “They were authorized to shoot me!” was sent after he posted about the document on social media. But the language Trump referred to is a standard force-limiting policy statement used for issuing search warrants and is not unique to the FBI’s search of his property.

Trump wasn't at Mara-a-Lago when the search happened. Trump's security detail had been notified the search would occur.
