Albert Kriemler's Spring Summer 2025 collection for Akris drew inspiration from the early Renaissance, specifically the serene palette of Italian painter Piero della Francesca. "When I collaborated with choreographer John Neumeier earlier this year on the costumes for his final ballet, Epilogue, the hues of artist Piero della Francesca became our inspiration. His subdued, sublime colors sparked my fascination with the Early Renaissance and Mantua, Italy, a 15th-century cultural nucleus. It was there that I found myself in a room painted in fresco — full of light and life: Andrea Mantegna's Camera degli Sposi,” explains the designer.

This collection centered on the use of light and airy fabrics. Kriemler introduced innovative materials like woven raffia, waterproof organza, and linen—fabrics. A standout was the "techno tulle," a high-performance fabric typically used in sportswear. Elongated, fluid dresses grounded in trench coats and parkas for a feeling of protection and outdoorsy sleekness. Resin-coated, water-repellent, in fabrics that feel light: linen-blend, cotton, and silk poplin. The color palette offered a delicate range of pale hues. The simplicity of the silhouettes like T-shirts, trench coats, blousons, and pantsuits allowed the fabrics to take center stage.
