Our crews give litter picker George his "best day ever"

A young litter picker had the “best day ever” when council staff surprised him with his very own StreetCare kit.
Charfield lad George can be seen out every Thursday scooting the village around in a mini John Deere truck pulling a trailer for his waste and recycling buckets.
His mum Hannah said he has ADHD, autism and tics and his volunteering really helps his mental health, and he loves it when his efforts are recognised.
To say thanks for all George’s hard work, operatives Mike and George surprised him with a bag of StreetCare goodies.
“I love doing it, it’s the best day of the week. I hate it when people just throw things away and never put it in the bin, it makes me angry,” said George.
“I feel like I’m making quite a big difference. I prefer being out and about doing jobs to going to school.
“Thank you so much for my gifts! Best day ever.”
George now has a StreetCare sticker on the back his trailer, two hats to wear so he’s ready for all weathers, a water bottle and a child-size litter grabber.
