Having finished recording a longplay for Pinball Dreams, it seemed like perfect sense to dive straight into the sequel. Launching only a few months later, Digital Illusions built upon the foundations laid out in Pinball Dreams, delivering four tables which are consistently more complex than those in the previous game. The ball physics and angle of the flippers have been tweaked to increase the sense of speed and feel more dynamic, something most apparent on the blisteringly quick "Speed Devils" table. Multi-ball is still absent, but the tables now contain upper and lower zones, with an additional flipper near the top of the table to shoot the ball into skill ramps and other bonus traps. In particular, the "Billion Dollar Gameshow" table makes heavy use of this new feature, requiring the player to shoot multiple ramps in quick succession to unlock some of the higher scoring bonuses.

There isn't really a much more I can say about Pinball Fantasies that I didn't say about it's predecessor. It remains an incredibly compelling 2D pinball simulator, blessed with some stunning presentation and audio; the later AGA release features even better graphics, but the OCS release is still very easy on the eye. Although I did encounter a rather perplexing bug on Stone 'n Bones (see video notes), it's not enough to detract from one of the greatest Amiga games of all time.

I somehow glitched the game on Stone 'n Bones table into awarding me infinite balls; I deliberately guttered about 20 balls off-camera and the game simply wouldn't end, so I had to quit the attempt. I managed to capture all the various bonuses and bagged the super jackpot twice, so I was still happy with the overall result.
