Turning out our latest rescued mares | Part 1 - Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre

What a lovely day at Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre! Last Friday, we turned out the five mares of our seven horses and ponies rescued a couple of weeks ago. The ultrasound checking revealed that they're not in foal, even though we're not 100% convinced about Silver. She'll have another exam next month. Obviously, he two stallions still need to be castrated to join them, but they have to gain weight before. They were so skeletal when rescued that they're not strong enough yet to have surgery.
As we couldn't leave the mares outside with Lawrence, the young stallion, kept inside – he would have turned crazy – it was decided to take him to our vet Dorothea's where he'll stay to get strength and be castrated. Lawrence was supposed to be re-homed but eventually, it hasn't been possible. So, as soon as he's recuperated, he'll come back and join his family.
