“A peculiar performance in a very nice theatre. Most of the team seems to have experienced a severe energy drain from this gig; the audience, while not hostile, was not especially supportive. Fine and generous words of assessment from several members of the audience, but somehow the crowd as a whole felt like a crowd of energy vampires…all take and no return. Very difficult, yet the music itself had moments of splendor, and the quality of work this team has put in is evident.”

I don’t know who wrote the above account of the performance. They are quite correct as to the odd nature of the room and performance itself. One question posed to “our host” in Atlanta was: “Do these guys like playing guitar?” I suppose our question to the audience could’ve been: “Do you really want to be here?” From my perspective, the room (although quite nice) was incredibly awkward. The performance of Bicycling To Afghanistan that appeared on the CD: Aspiration: Atlanta was taken from this (Seven Stages) performance.
