I found a new line jumping the Aiguille du Midi, you can fly in between a split crack of granite in the earth, just big enough for a wingsuiter. The depth goes down for over 200 ft, flying underneath the trees, earths soil and granite, going deep down into a dark abyss.
I was planning on naming this jump "The Abyss", but after this weeks recent events I chose to name it after the last person I saw in Chamonix "Philippe Jean", one of the bubbliest, nicest guys around. He had a BASE jumping accident, I didn't know him well but every time I saw him, he was in a good mood and always made you feel at home. Which is character trait we should all strive for.
So I wanted to name this line "Philippe jeans Abyss" Just a few lines down there is "The Old Mans Line" named after another great man David Buchanan.
So here is to the sweeter things of life, A simple smile, nice gesture and warm hug can go much further than any material possession, People like this knew it best.
