HOW TO USE A SQUIRREL CALL - Squirrel Hunting Tips

In this week's video, I share some squirrel hunting tips on how to use a squirrel call, the type of squirrel calls available, and the best way to call in squirrels when squirrel hunting.

Depending on the season, squirrel calling success can vary, but having various squirrel calls in your hunting bag will help. There is no wrong way to use a squirrel call. I encourage you to try a variety of styles to see which works best for you.

When hunting squirrels in the late season, I have the best luck with a squirrel distress call being that squirrels are less vocal during winter squirrel hunting. However, that's not to say the reed style call will not work during late-season squirrel hunting. Your best luck with this call is when you locate a squirrel, and they are out of range. Try using the squirrel call to make a squirrel bark and see if it pulls him in.
