Russia successfully repelled a Ukrainian counterattack in the Kursk region, with many Ukrainian soldiers surrendering, according to Russian security sources. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the capture of Kurakhove, a key Ukrainian logistics hub. While Ukrainian President Zelensky claimed significant Russian losses, he did not mention Kurakhove. Russia believes taking the town will accelerate its advance in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces launched 25 attacks around Kurakhove, but most of the town is now under Russian control. Reports also suggested the deployment of around 11,000 North Korean troops in Kursk to support Russia, though Moscow has not confirmed this.
