The Malayan Scimitar Babbler (Pomatorhinus bornensis), also known as the Sunda Scimitar Babbler, is a bird species in the babbler family Timaliidae found in Malaysia and parts of Indonesia like Sumatra and Borneo. It is recognized by its long, downward-curved, scimitar-shaped bill, which it uses to forage by prying open decaying wood and leaf litter to find invertebrates.

This medium-sized bird has soft, fluffy plumage, typically dark brown above and lighter below, with a distinctive pattern around the face including a broad black band through the eye bordered by white.The bird prefers dense forest undergrowth in lowland and montane tropical forests and is known for being shy and skulking, often heard more than seen due to its bassy and distinctive vocalizations. It typically forages on or near the ground, flipping leaves to search for insects and grubs. Unlike some other scimitar babblers, it does not often feed with mixed-species bird flocks.

The Malayan Scimitar Babbler is part of a group of babblers found in the tropical forests of Asia, notable for their long tails, weak flight, and terrestrial habits.
