Описание к видео Crittenden families only given 30 days to move from mobile homes after land sold

CRITTENDEN, Ky. (WKRC) - Thirty days. That's all the time that's been given to families in a Grant County mobile home community before they need to move out.

After 24 years living at 208 N. Main St., Paulette Moore said she got a letter in the mail Sept. 6 saying, "Your mobile home is located on this property and is going to need to be moved or relocated."

On Friday, she got an eviction notice. The Moores said they used to live in a quiet, well-kept trailer court. Now, they see drug activity and they've been robbed.

"They're wanting to do something about the trailer park now, they should have done something about it a long time ago," said Moore.

Erin Barney said she dropped everything to help her father move. She is shocked by the trailer park's condition.

"Why would you be surprised that there's busted glass in the grass, and there's kids everywhere?" said Barney.

Aaron Melton with Desert Management is contracted by the landowner, RHW Properties LLC, to help families relocate. His goal is to buy the eight trailers for $300 a piece.

"I would rather work with them upfront buying it. That way, they can take the money and they can move on," said Melton.

Melton said tenants should not be surprised. The land has been on sale for a year. Barney said her family is fortunate to be able to spend several thousand dollars to move.

"These people here will be sleeping probably in the bushes. They've already said they're going to because they know they have nowhere else to go. None," said Barney.

Moore's daughter, Mary, picked up another job to make ends meet. By the time they're ready, the Moores are worried it will be too late.

"You never want to see someone lose their home, and you never want to see someone be removed from their home," said Melton.

On Tuesday, they plan to ask a Grant County judge in court for more time.

One of the mobile homes has been purchased by Desert Management, and two more are in the process.
