In this video, I show how I transformed natural oyster shells into decorative art pieces using a handmade paper pulp technique.

I started by coating the inside of the oyster shells with wood glue. Then I applied a thin layer of the top layer of tissue paper. Using the tip of my brush, I gently tapped the tissue into place. I diluted the wood glue with a little water and carefully worked it into the tissue so it would stick well and form texture.

I used the same technique on the edges of the shells, removed excess tissue, and let everything dry for a few hours. After drying, I painted the edges with gold paint to give them an elegant finish.

For the background panel, I reused the wooden seat board from a broken stool. The stool seat had come loose, so instead of throwing it away, I repurposed it as a backing panel. I painted the sides of the panel with gold paint and applied varnish in the center to add shine and protect the surface.

Once everything was dry, I glued a decorative pearl inside each oyster shell and then attached all shells evenly onto the wooden panel.
The artwork is now finished and ready to hang on the wall.
