The Bhartiya way is sustainable and strives for the welfare of all. It is important that we regain the comprehensive knowledge system of our heritage and demonstrate the ‘Indian way’ of doing things to the world. This requires training generations of scholars who will demonstrate and exemplify to the world a way of life so unique and peculiar to our great civilization.

The NEP, 2020 recognizes this rich heritage of ancient and eternal Indian knowledge and thought as a guiding principle. The Indian Knowledge Systems comprising Jnan, Vignan, and Jeevan Darshan have evolved out of experience, observation, experimentation, and rigorous analysis. This tradition of validating and putting into practice has impacted our education, arts, administration, law, justice, health, manufacturing, and commerce.

The Sangam IKS series is the outcome of MoE, IKS division project work undertaken by Sangam Talks to disseminate this tradition.

What is a temple? Is it merely a place of worship? When we see it from the Hindu Civilisational perspective, we will find that it is way more than that. For a Hindu, a temple is where Gods or Goddesses reside. It signifies that a temple is a divine place, where Hindu devotees go for pilgrimage, to meet god, and try to find 'Moksha'. Hence from ancient times, the sculptures and carvings on Hindu temples are more than pieces of artwork, the iconography in it is in tune with the profound theological roots of the Hindu culture. The process of making a temple is therefore multidisciplinary as the guidelines given in texts like Brhat Samhita. This presentation is a great medium to find this value system.
We also will come to know about the book “The Himachal Temple: The Bengal Connection” written by the speaker, a discussion about the topic what this title signifies.
