Schoolwide systematic approaches to identify, address, and monitor student and educator needs are essential to providing comprehensive and cohesive trauma support. Building a systematic approach to address trauma includes developing common language and definitions, putting in place a multi-tiered system of support, and supporting educators in their efforts and challenges related to student trauma. This panel from the REL Appalachia Trauma Support for Schools Summit provided a foundational understanding of what a comprehensive trauma-informed approach looks like and the different components of such an approach.
