The Berthier rifle is the French bolt action rifle that was issued to troops in WW1 to supplement the aging Lebel 1886 rifle. The rifle shoots the 8mm Lebel cartridge but only holds three rounds. It was used in World War One and World War Two by the French military.

Royal tiger imports has had These French milsurp rifles at their warehouse for the last six years or so. They are kind of hard to find in the US surplus market, so I decided to get one from them. Yes, these are Ethiopian surplus so they are rough looking. Like one I got, the bluing is worn almost completely and wood has seen better days. Even in this condition, it can’t be functional right? Well, I go over the overall appearance of the rifle and take it for a range test.
