Описание к видео Half Life 2 - Episode One: G-man Scene [Opening] 20th Anniversary (8K UHD - 60FPS - 5.1 Surround)

!! SPOILER ALERT !!

The beginning of Half-Life 2 - Episode One in 8K UHD resolution at 60FPS and with complete 5.1 surround audio. Subtitles/Closed Captions included.

Resuming sometime after the events of Half-Life 2 where Alyx Vance and Gordon Freeman succeeded in stopping Dr. Wallace Breen, G-man attempts to reawaken you to put you back into the world, out of stasis, for yet another mission. For the first time however, he's being stopped in his tracks by a group of Vortigaunts that clearly do not want him to use you as a pawn whenever he sees fit. For the first time we're seeing the G-man more agitated than before when things aren't going his way.

== TECHNICAL INFORMATION ==

The video was recorded through the Source engine's native renderer. I first recorded a demo of this scene, then used a number of commands to stabilize the framerate and avoid stutter at 7860x4320 resolution. Audio was recorded through OBS for a true surround experience, although Source doesn't support or include LFE-effects.

This is the anniversary build released on November 16th of 2024 where G-man's eyes have been fixed (they were missing specular reflections up until this release). The G-man model has been modded to the Half-Life: Alyx version for increased detail. This video is particular also has a few frames skipped (and the audio correctly adjusted) to aavoid a small stutter that happens in-game regardless of computer build or software issues. It's baked into the sequence and can't be fixed unless manually redoing the whole scene which is impossible to do, but in this video you'll barely notice it because the frames continue flowing seamlessly instead.
