Amidst the challenges of preserving artifacts during active conflict, mobile 3D scanning technology presents a beacon of hope. Leveraging Polycam's innovative platform, the 'Backup Ukraine' initiative invites civilians to digitally safeguard their nation's heritage. The Danish UNESCO National Commission, Blue Shield Denmark, and Polycam have joined forces to repurpose the Polycam app, empowering individuals across Ukraine to effortlessly scan and upload digital replicas of vital architecture, statues, and monuments.

Conceived and coordinated by Virtue's research and innovation arm, in collaboration with the agency powered by VICE, 'Backup Ukraine' embodies a collective effort to safeguard Ukraine's cultural legacy amidst the turmoil of war. Chair of The Danish UNESCO National Commission, Elsebeth Gerner Nielsen, underscores the critical importance of preserving cultural heritage during conflict, emphasizing the invaluable role of innovative technologies like Polycam.
