Within the exhibition space at Site II of our two-site show, "If Not a Note, a Chasm," poets and poet-artists read their own work and work that has informed their practice. The event also included music performances by Resistance Revival Chorus and collaborative duo, Lena Ruth Schwartz + Evan O. Adams. This video features a recorded poetry reading by Anton Yakovlev. Anton Yakovlev’s poetry collection One Night We Will No Longer Bear the Ocean came out in May 2024 from Redacted Books, an imprint of ELJ Editions. His chapbook Chronos Dines Alone (SurVision Books, 2018) won the James Tate Prize. His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry Daily, The Hopkins Review, and elsewhere. Anton co-hosts the Carmine Street Metrics reading series in Manhattan, the Out of the Box reading series at Bowery Poetry Club, and the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow reading series in Rutherford, New Jersey. He is a former education director at Bowery Poetry Club. He has also written and directed several short films.
