PERSIAN FORCE zooms to July Stakes success | Racing TV

Exciting two-year-old Persian Force emulates his sire Mehmas with victory in the Group 2 Close Brothers July Stakes at Newmarket for trainer Richard Hannon in the colours of Amo Racing under jockey Rossa Ryan.

Market rival and Windsor Castle Stakes winner Little Big Bear was a late withdrawal for Aidan O'Brien on account of the quickening ground at Newmarket, but Persian Force was not to be denied regardless and justified short odds in ready fashion with his trademark speed and notably cool and calm demeanour for a racey juvenile.

This promising colt looks set for Group 1 targets such as the Prix Morny, National Stakes and Middle Park Stakes now, says Hannon - including a potential tilt at the QIPCO 2000 Guineas early next year as connections try and make this admirable type into a stallion like his father.
