Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1 C449 EBH Sold for £36,563 1985 – 2023

I owned C449 EBH over 30 years ago, I purchased it around 1991 with just under 40,000 miles on it from a private seller in Coventry and then sold it on to my father who sold it in 2007 to a buyer from Guernsey. In my opinion the car was immaculate and totally original back then and only used as a second car and only used in dry weather and always garaged.

Looking at the recent auction details looks like it has only covered around 600 miles since 2007 as it was around 43100 miles when my father sold it.

It’s very strange to see it after all this time and I was surprised when I saw it up for sale. I have created a montage of photos from when I owned it followed by the recent sale details and video by Silverstone Auctions. My father sold it for around £4600 so not a bad investment as it has increased in value by over £30,000! I should have kept it.

I owned a white 3 Door Sierra Cosworth after the series 1 reg D871 TUJ and it had covered around 56,000 miles when I sold it in 2007.
