Dr. Rodolfo Werner is a marine biologist and advisor for The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Antarctic Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC). He has devoted his career to the study and conservation of the Patagonian Sea, the Southern Ocean, and Antarctica. In his talk, Rodolfo Werner demonstrates the importance of the Antarctic krill for the Earth’s ecosystems, and suggests the ways in which governments and scientists may attempt to protect this animal. Dr. Rodolfo Werner is a marine biologist who has devoted his professional career to the study and conservation of the Patagonian Sea, the Southern Ocean, and Antarctica. For the last 18 years, Rodolfo has been working as an advisor to The Pew Charitable Trusts and the Antarctic Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC) on issues such as wildlife conservation, marine protected areas and Antarctic krill fisheries management. Rodolfo has participated in several Antarctic expeditions and documentaries. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
