Omar Bradley | Living St. Louis

Описание к видео Omar Bradley | Living St. Louis

Living St. Louis producer Jim Kirchherr looks at the story of Omar Bradley. Know as the "soldier's general," Bradley spent his childhood and early life in Moberly, Missouri, where a monument to his now stands. While less flashy and colorful than many of his counterparts, Bradley eventually rose during World War II to command all U.S. ground troops in Europe, the largest American field command ever under the charge of one general. While playing an important role in the defeat of Nazi Germany, Bradley was nonetheless known for being very protective of the well-being of the soldiers under his command, and never wasted their lives needlessly. After the war he rose to rank of General of the Army, the highest rank in the U.S. Army.
