Adding More Aussie Native Edibles to my Permaculture Food Forest

As I slowly build my food forest I've always got diversity in mind. Today I'm adding to the Australian native edibles I have growing in order to increase diversity of plantings but for me increasing the diversity of my diet is equally important. In this video we take a look at what I already have growing in terms of aussie edibles and then add in the new plants I have sourced. I'll discuss the planting requirements of each and hopefully position them all to thrive and I'll discuss what culinary uses they'll have down the track.

Some images of plants have come from a book called 'Australian Native Food Harvest' written by Julie Weatherhead of Peppermint Ridge Farm here in Victoria. I also sourced plants from a nursery at this farm. It's a really great place to visit, see edibles growing in a beautiful landscape and you can also sample foods cooked with them in the cafe built in a magnificent old schoolhouse. Great day out!!
