Slide Tackles are incredibly dangerous, so it is important to not attempt them with your defenders. The only time you should attempt a slide tackle with a defender like a CB is when it is your last resort. The opponent is about to score or get through on goal and you slide to block the shot.

Slide Tackles in Fifa 16 should be done by attackers. Although, their defensive stats may be worse it is far less risky. If you mess up a slide tackle with an attacker there are still a ton of defenders behind him that will help out and stop the attacker. More often then not if you miss a slide tackle it will take to long to recover with that player. If you miss a slide tackle with a defender you have no one to help out since that is the last line of defense.

It is important to slide tackle towards the shooting lane or passing lane. Don’t slide tackle straight into the attacker because that will lead to a foul more often than not. Slide towards where the ball will be. It is great to catch your opponent off guard and slide when the opponent first receives the ball and does a skill move. First touches in this game are touch and they bounce off the player, especially if it is a driven pass, this is the perfect time to do a slide tackle in Fifa 16.
