Comité Noviembre, the organization that founded Puerto Rican Heritage Month celebrates 25 years this month. I taped their gala and was very moved by Choco Orta's performance of La Borinqueña, the Puerto Rican national anthem, in both the official and revolutionary version. Iris Chacón, la bomba puertoriqueña, told the story of how she started in show biz so many years ago. It was a moving evening and many awards were given to Puerto Ricans making a difference in the community. This organization sponsor scholarships and educational programs for Puerto Rican students.
