Choose the Light

Just started thinking about choices, consequences, and how repentance can make it all ok.

For satan laughing "manically" instead of "maniacally", I put a lot of thought into that.

This is what I found:

"Manic laughter can be a form of maniacal laughter. Both terms refer to uncontrollable, intense laughter that can appear unsettling or irrational. Maniacal laughter often implies a sense of madness or extreme emotional state, which can include the kind of frenzied, excessive laughter characteristic of manic episodes. Thus, while not identical, the two can overlap in describing a similar type of laughter."

And

"Someone can exhibit manic laughter towards another person who is sad or distressed. This type of reaction can occur in individuals experiencing disorders that affect emotional regulation and empathy. The person laughing may not be reacting to the situation appropriately due to their mental state."

Maniacal laughter is for someone truly insane. Of which I don't think satan is. I think he is highly intelligent and clever and knows precisely how to tempt us. Manic laughter or "laughing manically", is for someone who laughs at inappropriate times, for no reason, and has no empathy for someone due to their mental state. I do believe that Satan's mental state is that of a narcissist and sociopath and he has zero empathy, and will laugh at us at inappropriate times, especially when we are already sad or distressed or sinning.

So I truly felt that laughing manically fit better than laughing maniacally. Just in case anyone was wondering.
