While the Indian captain executed his plans very well on Day 1, he went a step ahead by predicting the opposition batter’s dismissal during the 54th over of England’s innings.
It all started when England’s wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler came out to bat at No.7. He locked horns with India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the 52nd over.
The dangerous batsman initially decided to leave the ball outside the off-stump. It was when the Indian captain made a bold prediction to Rishabh Pant while standing at first slip.
The 32-year-old skipper who was positioned near Pant said: “Out hai (He will get out now)”. Although Buttler didn’t get out on the next ball, he walked back to the pavilion in Bumrah’s next over.
Buttler ended up mistiming the shot off Bumrah as he edged a ball to Pant behind the stumps. Jos Buttler who played his first Test in six months failed to fire for his team. England crumbled from 138/3 to 183 (all-out)
