Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has strongly criticised Rahul Gandhi over his recent statement on the Indian Army.

Speaking at a rally in Banka, Bihar, Rajnath Singh said —

“Our army soldiers have only one religion, and that religion is ‘Sainya Dharma’. There is no other religion besides this.”

He cautioned against dragging the army into politics, reminding that whenever India has faced a crisis, Indian soldiers have stood tall, defending the nation’s honour through their courage and valour.

The Defence Minister’s remarks come amid a growing war of words between the BJP and Congress over statements concerning the armed forces.
