Narrow Lake is located in the Cariboo Mountains, midway between Prince George and the top of the world famous Bowron Lakes canoe circuit. The lake is accessed via the Sites and Trails BC Recreation Site at the east end of the lake, off the Willow-Cale Forest Service Road (FSR).

According to a four-part series written by Mike Nash for the Citizen's ‘Prince George This Week’ (Dec 2004 - Mar 2005), Narrow Lake has long been rumoured to have a WWII era bomber lying at its bottom. Allegedly the bomber made an emergency landing on the ice in winter and subsequently sank during the spring thaw before a retrieval mission could be launched. All accounts of this forced landing are second-hand, and there are as many skeptics as there are adherents to the theory. However, the rumours have persisted for many years, along with reports of a WWII fighter aircraft similarly ensconced in nearby Wendle Lake, so a thorough search using side-scanning sonar would likely be a worthwhile undertaking.
