On this edition of Ukraine This Week, we were joined by Olena Tregub, Secretary General of the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO), who outlined how Ukraine has transformed its defense procurement system since the start of the full-scale invasion.

She explained how early challenges, marked by urgency, secrecy and limited oversight have evolved into a more transparent and NATO-aligned structure, while highlighting the need for greater European investment in Ukraine’s rapidly growing defense-tech sector, particularly drones and electronic warfare.

From the Munich Security Conference, Yevheniia Kravchuk, Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, reflected on the shifting global order and Ukraine’s role in reshaping Europe’s security architecture. She emphasized that Ukraine’s battlefield innovation and hard-earned experience must be fully integrated into European defense planning.

Both guests underscored that paying close attention to the Ukrainian frontline experience is essential for building an effective and modern security strategy for Europe.
