India Pulse & Grains Association (IPGA), Pulse Australia and Austrade co-hosted a webinar on the Indian – Australian pulses industry on Thursday, May 13th, 2021.The webinar, hosted under the aegis of THE IPGA KNOWLEDGE SERIES initiative presented an update on the Australian & Indian crop status covering two specific pulses – Chickpeas and Lentils.

The webinar featured a panel discussion with domain experts like Nick Poutney and Peter Wilson from Australia along with Anurag Tulshan and Nirav Desai from India. The Opening Remarks were delivered by Saurabh Bhartia and Closing Remarks by Staurt Rees. The webinar was co-moderated by Pradeep Ghorpade and Nick Goddard.

The speakers discussed aspects like production in the last season, supply-demand scenario, expected trade volumes and price as well as the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on production as well as trade. The webinar was organised as a part of the Australian Government’s Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX) program, aimed at growing two-way business literacy and commercial partnerships between Australia and India.
