This series of videos is suitable for programmers with minimal (or no) programming experience who want to learn Java. In this video, we will install the free, open source OpenJDK for Java, Eclipse IDE for Java, set path variables in Windows, write a Hello World program in both Eclipse and using a simple text editor and command line, and investigate what the .java and .class files are.

This video is suitable to watch after reading Chapter 1 of Introduction to Programming Using Java, by David J. Eck.

However, the video is very straightforward and can also stand alone or accompany any other introductory Java textbook. Let's have some fun learning to program in Java!
